Christmas Spirit Evident In Downtown Parade
Collaborative Children’s Solutions launched its largest Christmas parade ever on Saturday, entitled “Light the City.”
The non-profit organization reported in a post, on their official Facebook page, that the previous biggest parade they’ve hosted had 60 floats, and this year’s parade has more than 103 floats participating – much to the surprise and delight of the crowd goers.
“One hundred and four floats, I didn’t know that,” said Tyrell Longoria, 54, a Jamestown native. “Every year we come down here to watch the parade with our grandchildren. It seems like the parade is such a wonderful thing for our town.”
Longoria wasn’t the only person whose yearly highlight is this annual parade.
“I have my daughter in the parade this year,” said Harold Washington, a resident of Jamestown and native of Ashtabula, Ohio. “Most of the parades in my home state don’t compare to this one.”
Additionally, there was side-line entertainment during the entire parade. Balloon twisters, people dressed as the Grinch, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and other Christmas-themed characters who were walking the streets and taking pictures with event goers.
