Bridging A Gap Between Performers, Audience
Angelo Valentino wants to redefine the live performance experience by bridging a gap between musicians and the audience– a Back Stage Jam.
InSpire Development Center Executive Director said Back Stage Jam transcends conventional concert formats, offering both audiences and performers a chance to connect and interact.
“Back Stage Jam was born out of a desire to transform the traditional concert experience. The idea was to create an event that not only showcased incredible musical talent but also allowed the audience to connect more intimately with the performers. By filming the event in front of a live studio audience, we aimed to capture the raw energy and authenticity of live music, bridging the gap between artists and their fans,” Valentino said.
Back Stage Jam will take place at Studio Metro Underground Theater, 316 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, Valentino added. The location is at the back entrance of the InSpire Development Center behind the Spire Theater, 317 E. Third St. Live performances will be recorded on video to capture the energy and passion that radiate from artists, fostering an authentic and electrifying atmosphere, Valentino said.
“Back Stage Jam provides a unique platform for bands and performers to showcase their talent and connect with their audience in a more profound way. It fills a need for artists not only to have an intimate, authentic space for their live performances but also to obtain high-quality video and audio content that can be invaluable for their promotional efforts,” Valentino said. “Many performers seek opportunities like this to showcase their music in a more personal and dynamic setting while simultaneously capturing professional-quality recordings of their performances. Back Stage Jam offers just that, serving as a multifaceted platform that meets the evolving needs of both musicians and their audiences.”
Valentino said Back Stage Jam is open to a wide range of music genres.
“From rock to jazz, from funk to indie, and everything in between, we want to showcase the rich tapestry of music that our local and regional artists have to offer,” he said.
Valentino is also the Spire Theater Artistic Director and Producer and said Chautauqua’s Got Talent, which is held in The Spire Theater, and Back Stage Jam are totally different.
“While both events celebrate talent and performance, they have different focuses and formats. Chautauqua’s Got Talent is a talent competition where participants compete for a prize. Back Stage Jam, on the other hand, is a live recording session in front of an audience, with a primary emphasis on creating an intimate and authentic musical experience rather than a competition. It’s about celebrating the artists and the music they create,” Valentino added.
Back Stage Jam is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. The In Crowd and We Are 3 are set to perform. For more information visit inspirejamestown.com.
