A 65-year-old Lakewood man was killed when a vehicle pulled into the path of the motorcycle he was riding Friday evening in West Ellicott.
The Ellicott Police Department confirmed Saturday morning that Richard W. Burham died as the result of injuries in the collision. The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Fairmount Avenue near the intersection Green Avenue.
Ellicott police told The Post-Journal that an eastbound motorist pulled into the path of a westbound motorcycle, being operated by Burham.
After the collision, Burham was taken by ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua and later moved to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa.
A portion of Fairmount Avenue was briefly closed to traffic due to the crash.

The driver of the vehicle is expected to be cited for failure to yield, Ellicott police said Friday.
