Traffic Stop In Dunkirk Leads To Fentanyl Find

A traffic stop Saturday evening in the city of Dunkirk has lead to the seizure of 19.6 grams of fentanyl.

At approximately 7:46 p.m., a Dunkirk police officer stopped a vehicle for an observed violation on Central Avenue. An investigation led to the seizure of fentanyl from the vehicle.

The operator, identified as Dakota O. Cordell, 25 of Dunkirk, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and several vehicle and traffic law violations.

Cordell was held in city jail pending arraignment.
