The date has been set for the episode of America’s Best Restaurants that will be featuring local Jamestown restaurant, 4 Below Haggy’s Bar and Grill.

The filming of the episode took place at the beginning of September, and the episode’s official air date will be Tuesday, Dec 13. The episode will come out at 6 p.m. on America’s Best Restaurant’s YouTube channel. It will also be on its Facebook page, the restaurant’s Facebook page, and America’s Best Restaurant’s website.

Eric Hagglund, owner of 4 Below Haggy’s Bar and Grill — located at 104 E. Second St. in Jamestown — said the filming in September went very well.

“It went great,” Hagglund said. “The crew was phenomenal. They gave us directions for what to do and how to talk and act. We had some customers who came out that day to support us.”

The filming was centered on four of the restaurant’s unique dishes. These include pretzel chips, the candied bacon bourbon burger, “crack” wings and loaded fries, and naan tacos, which are tacos on naan bread instead of taco shells. The episode will showcase these dishes along with a section talking to staff and customers.

The show’s host, Greg Hutson, said he was very impressed with Hagglund and his business. He was mostly impressed with how Hagglund is dedicated to getting ingredients that are approachable and affordable for everyone, and keeps it at a level where customers can still enjoy their great food without hurting their budget.

What also impressed Huston was Hagglund’s focus on family.

“I was super impressed with the way he is very family-oriented, with his daughter Ireland who does painting classes at the restaurant,” Hutson said.

One of Hagglund’s weekly events is Wednesday night Paint Night with Ireland.

Hagglund said he was allowed to see the first run of the episode, but some changes have been made since.

“I saw the first run and there were a few changes that both me and the production team wanted to make,” Hagglund said. “I think between us there were six changes to make, and then they will do the release.”

Now that the episode is officially coming out, Hagglund said he is excited to be able to showcase not only his restaurant but the local area as well.

“I’m happy that it’s getting out there and we will be able to showcase my business but also Jamestown and the area,” Hagglund said. “I want to let people know that there is great food and great restaurants in this town.”

In the future, when people come to visit Jamestown from out of town, Hagglund hopes the episode will help them to be able to come see some of the local establishments, restaurants and others.

“I want people to know that we’re not just a small town with nothing to offer,” Hagglund said. “We have not just the restaurants but the National Comedy Center and the Lucille Ball Museum. There are plenty of great places to offer.”

More than anything, Hagglund hopes that his episode of America’s Best Restaurants will inspire people to come visit and to also offer good experiences themselves.

“I appreciate everybody in the area who comes in on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and all of our patrons,” Hagglund said. “I hope this inspires people to do good and offer good food and a wonderful experience for their customers when they enter their establishments.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
