Police: Missing Man May Have Been Victim Of Crime
Kevin Hornburg
The disappearance of a 56-year-old city man may be the result of foul play, the Jamestown Police Department revealed Wednesday afternoon.
Kevin A. Hornburg has not been seen since he left his 629 Prendergast Ave. residence around 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. During that time, Hornburg has reportedly not accessed of any his finances, including bank accounts.
His disappearance has sparked numerous searches organized by the Jamestown-based WNY Missing & Unidentified Persons group.
On Wednesday, Jamestown police said foul play may have had a role. “We are continuing to work this as a suspicious missing person case,” said JPD Capt. Robert Robert Samuelson. “We have conducted multiple interviews and have collected some information that reveals that Hornburg has likely been a victim to a crime.”
He added, “We know there are several people who likely know what happened to Hornburg. We need them to assist us with tips so that we can bring Hornburg home to his family. All tips are strictly confidential.”
Hornburg is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He also has a tattoo of a cross on his forearm and an unknown tattoo between his pointer finger and thumb.
Anyone with information on Hornburg’s whereabouts or his disappearance is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 716-483-7537. Anonymous tips can also be left at 716 483-Tips (8477).
Crime Stoppers of Western New York — Crimestopperswny.org — is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of those responsible “for the disappearance and/or homicide of Kevin Hornburg,” the organization said.
One of many searches for Hornburg took place Dec. 30.
“As of right now, we are trying to stay positive, but there is still a lot of area to cover and with the snow coming, of course, that is a concern,” said Merry Williams, the founder of WNY Missing & Unidentified Persons. “Today, we are trying to further a search on Prendergast because the group and the family do not feel he made it far on foot. He is not known to travel or really get rides to and from outside of Jamestown, so we are really trying to focus over here for right now.”
