Gradually, a new brand of park signs are being installed in the city of Jamestown.

On Wednesday, city officials gathered at Bergman Park to announce the latest sign installation. Julia Ciesla-Hanley, city recreation coordinator; Sam Teresi, Jamestown mayor; and John Williams, city parks manager, said the new park signs will have a logo modeled after the design used on signs along the Greater Jamestown Riverwalk. Teresi said the new design, which is on the left side of the signs, was designed by Gary Peters at Fresh Press Studios, located at 100 N. Main St., Jamestown. The sign was created by Chautauqua Sign Co., located at 2164 Allen St. Ext., Falconer.

“We’ve been trying to standardize the park signs for the last year,” Teresi said.

Other parks where the new signs have been installed include Jackson Taylor Park, former Chadakoin Park; Allen Park; and McCrea Point Park. Teresi said future parks sign changes include Roseland Park, located along Fluvanna Avenue; Nordstrom Park, located along Rosemead Avenue; and Jones and Gifford Park.

Teresi said the larger signs, like the one at Bergman Park, cost around $2,000 each while smaller signs, like the one at Allen Park, cost around $1,500 each. He said when budget funds are available that is when the other park signs will change to the new design.

Starting at $3.50/week.
