Jamestown firefighters responded to a Friday afternoon blaze at the Ben Weitsman of Jamestown scrap metal yard, located at 610 W. Eighth St.

Manager Paul Weinstein said he wasn’t sure what sparked the fire, but suggested the bulk of sheet metal at the site, coupled with fluids drained from vehicles, may be a likely cause. He said the fire was contained and that no injuries were sustained.

An investigation into the cause is ongoing.
