Tammy Pescatelli will make her return to Jamestown next month to perform as part of a series of events that will make up the 2016 Lucy Town Half Marathon, Univera Kids 2K and 5K race weekend.
Pescatelli is slated to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Willow Bay Theater during the weekend-long series of events, marking her fourth overall visit to the Pearl City.
Having grown up in the Cleveland area, and made her home in Meadville, Pa., Pescatelli is all too familiar with the areas of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania. Her past visits to Jamestown consisted of appearances in previous editions of the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, and her notable appearance as host of the city’s successful bid to earn the world record for most Lucy impersonators photographed in one location – which it accomplished at Tracy Plaza in 2011.
Pescatelli said she is looking forward to her return to Jamestown.
“I’m working on material for a new special and I’m looking forward to playing it in Jamestown because I think this audience is savvy and knows comedy,” Pescatelli said. “It’s going to be fun and I’m excited to see what everyone thinks about it.”
Though she made a name for herself primarily in the world of stand-up comedy, earning a reputation that was greatly helped by her appearance on two consecutive seasons of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” Pescatelli is well-versed in the mediums of network television and radio. Her resume includes big appearances on “The View” and “The Howard Stern Show,” and her being chosen by Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg to be a part of their “Dirty, Sexy, Funny” franchise.
She also earned several other accolades as co-creator, executive producer, writer and star of her own reality show “A Stand-Up Mother” on WeTV Network. Her other TV appearances include: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” A&E’s “Donnie Loves Jenny,” Bravo’s “Rocco’s Dinner Party,” CBS’s “The Talk,” NBC’s “Last Comic Standing: The Best of the Best,” her own Comedy Central Presents special that won that year’s Comedy Central’s Standup Showdown, and more.
“There’s nothing like the immediacy of stand-up, where you tell a joke and people either laugh or they don’t,” she said. “I got my start working simultaneously in stand-up and radio, so I’m very comfortable in either of those environments, but it’s understood in this industry that if you want anybody to know you are you have to get on television. You have the potential to reach millions of people very quickly, and that can really only help your reputation to grow.”

The Lucy Town Half Marathon, Univera Kids 2K and 5K race weekend has attracted participants from across the country annually since its creation in 2013, including both elite runners and Lucy fans alike. The inaugural year was headlined by Martin Short, and during the 2014 race weekend paid tribute to the iconic “I Love Lucy” grape stomping scene as 1,232 people set a new world record for most people treading grapes.
