A man has been charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person on Monday.
Justin Houghton, 40, was charged at 5:19 p.m. after city police responded to an address on the city’s east side for a report of a domestic incident. Officers allege Houghton assaulted a physically disabled person inside the residence and had allegedly been failing to care for the person, who police said is unable to care for themselves as a result of their disability.
The disabled person was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for further evaluation and care. Houghton was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
