CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– RIPLEY – Christopher S. Gibbons, 37, of Ripley was charged with second-degree harassment at 8:46 p.m. Sunday after deputies responded to a reported altercation in Ripley. Gibbons allegedly made unwanted physical contact with another individual at the residence. Gibbons will be in Ripley Town Court later.

– Susan L. Lilly, 53, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a lawful order, reckless driver and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator at 3 a.m. Sunday after Dunkirk police tried to pull a vehicle knowing its driver had an active arrest warrant. The driver allegedly failed to comply with the attempted traffic stop and fled the scene, prompting a vehicle pursuit that moved through multiple local jurisdictions.

Deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office joined local officers to safely manage the incident and the vehicle was eventually forced to a stop. The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident and charged. Lilly will be in Pomfret Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Noah D. Smith, 20, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt at 9:59 p.m. Sunday after officers responded to a north side business for an alleged Order of Protection violation. Smith was found on the sidewalk outside of the business. Officers learned that Smith had allegedly been at the window of the business and was yelling at a person who had a valid Stay Away Order of Protection against Smith. Smith was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

– Michael Hetrick, 41, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, littering and refusal to remove garbage/junk from roadway at 8:23 p.m. Sunday after officers responded to a north side residence for a report of a disorderly man throwing trash and other objects into the road. Upon arrival officers observed a man allegedly later identified as Hetrick throwing refuse and other items from a truck into the road. According to a police report Hetrick was given several commands to stop throwing items in the road but refused to stop. Officers then advised him that he was going to be issued a ticket for littering and Hetrick allegedly began to walk away from officers. Officers then caught up with him and tried to arrest Hetrick, who was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Hetrick was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
