JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Christopher Frederick, 56, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest at 7:45 a.m. Thursday after officers were dispatched to a business on the west side of Jamestown for a reported harassment complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who said an unknown white male approached her vehicle and began yelling threats at her while her 11-year-old son was inside the vehicle. The man then entered the business, where he began yelling at two girls who were related to the woman. After reviewing photographs of the man, officers were allegedly able to identify him as Frederick. Officers went to Frederick's home, where a brief struggle allegedly took place as officers attempted to take Frederick into custody. Frederick was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
– SHERIDAN – Dale M. Prince, 60, of Sheridan was charged with DWI, operating with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08% and unsafe lane change after an accident at 3:31 p.m. July 14 on Route 20 in Sheridan. Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Route 20 at Route 39 in Sheridan. Upon investigation, the accident was a single vehicle rollover, with the Prince, who was allegedly driving the vehicle, taken to Brooks Hospital by ambulance for injuries. Prince will be in Sheridan Town Court later.
– SHERIDAN – Bobby E. Ackerman Jr., 36, of Hanover was charged with following too closely, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, DWI and aggravated DWI after a traffic stop at 7:32 p.m. Sept. 5 on Route 20 in Sheridan. Ackerman was charged, taken to the Sheriff’s Office to be processed and released with appearance tickets to be in Sheridan Town Court later.
– POMFRET – Caydin A. Dejohn, 23, of Fredonia was charged with speeding, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, unsafe backing, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence at 7:05 p.m. Sept. 1 after a traffic stop on Route 60 in Cassadaga. DeJohn will be in Pomfret Town Court later.
– WESTFIELD – Kaelyn Hayward, 22, homeless, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unregistered vehicle while Matthew Mulville, 37, of Brocton was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the New York State Police at 3:52 p.m. Sept. 3 after a traffic stop on Route 20 in Westfield. According to a police report, deputies saw a vehicle leaving a storage unit on Prospect Road in Westfield. The vehicle was being operated by Kaelyn Hayward. Deputies said they allegedly knew Hayward’s driver’s license was suspended and pulled the vehicle over. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Matthew Mulville. A records check for Mulville confirmed he had an arrest warrant with the New York State Police while deputies also allegedly found Mulville in possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies then searched the vehicle and allegedly found more drug paraphernalia. Hayward was then charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and the suspended license. A search of Hayward’s belongings by deputies allegedly located 19.8 grams of fentanyl, 4 grams of methamphetamine and $281. A search warrant was then obtained for the storage unit Hayward had been observed leaving. After a search of the unit deputies seized an additional amount of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and money. Hayward was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program. She will be in Westfield Town Court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
- Damean Bowen, 24, of Westfield was charged Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree burglary - illegal entry of a dwelling after an investigation into an incident during which Bowen allegedly threw an 8-year-old child into a swimming pool. The child subsequently entered an apartment to change into dry clothing, at which time Bowen allegedly forced his way into the apartment without permission. Bowen was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for processing. He will be in Westfield Town Court later.
- Jesse Spellman, 36, of Ripley was charged Sept. 4 with petit larceny and criminal possession of a weapon. Officers were called to a storage unit business on Prospect Road. It is alleged that Spellman entered a storage unit and unlawfully obtained electricity. During the investigation, Spellman was also allegedly found to be in possession of a switchblade knife. He will be in Westfield Town Court later.
