Two Dunkirk residents face drug charges after a search warrant was executed at 5:03 p.m. Thursday at a Beach Road home in Dunkirk while the owner of the property was also charged.
Alexiss J. Matthews, 32, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Peter G. Galardo, 45, of Dunkirk was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. A third person found in the home when the search warrant was executed was also charged. Joshua A. Latona, 43, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance.
According to a police report, the search warrant was executed at 18 W. Beach Road, Dunkirk, by officers from the Dunkirk Police Department and narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was Alexiss J. Matthews and Peter Galardo. As a result of the search investigators seized 172.67 grams of methamphetamine, 6.58 grams of fentanyl, 34.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $535. Latona, according to police, was the owner of the residence, which si why he was charged.
Latona and Galardo were both issued appearance tickets and released. Matthews was taken to the Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in Dunkirk City Court.
