CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
– CLYMER – Kody J. Finney, 30, of Corry was charged with failure to keep right, DWI, DWI per se and tampering with physical evidence at 6:07 p.m. July 12 after a motor vehicle accident on Clymer-Sherman Road. Deputies were dispatched to a single motor vehicle accident with no injuries. Upon arrival, Deputies identified the operator as Finney, who was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Finney was charged and taken to the the Sheriff’s Office for processing before being released with appearance tickets to be in court later.
– ELLINGTON – Joshua M. Rivera, 34, of Gerry was charged with unlicensed operator, backing unsafely, DWI and DWI per se at 6:35 p.m. July 16 on Bates Road, Ellington. Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle complaint after it was reported that a vehicle had backed into a ditch but left prior to deputies’ arrival. According to a police report deputies were able to locate the vehicle a short time later and identify the operator as Joshua M. Rivera, who was allegedly found to be driving while intoxicated. Rivera was charged and taken to the Sheriff’s office for processing before being released with appearance tickets to be in court later.
– HANOVER – Richard L. Lyman, 32, of Hamburg was charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, two counts of failure to provide proper sustenance and abandonment of animals at 3:20 p.m. July 17 after deputies responded to an animal complaint on Old Hanover Road, Hamburg. After an investigation, it was found that Lyman had allegedly neglected to care for two dogs that were located abandoned at the residence with no food, water or working utilities to the residence. An arrest warrant was issued by Hanover Town Court for Lyman, who was subsequently located and arrested by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. Lyman was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
ELLICOTT POLICE
– Sierra Rishel, 27, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment at 9:22 p.m. July 11 after officers responded to a domestic dispute, where it is alleged Rishel got into a verbal argument with another person and began striking a glass sliding door with a patio chair, causing damage to both. Rishel was charged, taken to the Ellicott Police Department for processing and later taken to the Chautauqua County jail for a centralized arraignment. Rishel will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Kristen E. Capizzi, 30 ,of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 3:39 a.m. July 17 after a traffic stop for an alleged traffic infraction. Capizzi was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired by illicit substances. Capizzi charged and taken to the Ellicott Police Department for processing and issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– John K. Larsen, 68, of Ellicott was charged with second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal contempt at 2:30 p.m July 15 after officers responded to a domestic incident where it is alleged Larsen engaged in an ongoing course of conduct harassing another person while violating an order of protection. Larsen was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. Larsen will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Jacob Rivera Abbey, 26, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree menacing, third-degree attempted assault and petit larceny at 10:48 p.m. May 30 after officers responded to a domestic dispute, where it is alleged that Rivera Abbey entered a person's home illegally, struck the person , threatened to kill the person and took items from the person. Rivera Abbey was later located and taken into police custody. Rivera Abbey was taken to the Ellicott Police Department for processing and later taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. Rivera Abbey will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
