JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Joshua B. Becker, 38, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child at 7 p.m. Wednesday after officers working a STRIVE detail responded to south side address for a reported fight with weapons. Becker allegedly swung a baseball bat in a threatening manner toward another person and a young child. Officers found Becker a short distance away and he was taken into custody without incident. Becker was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

– Mariangel Valazquez Rosario, 38, and Fernando Mojica Reyes, 26, both of Jamestown, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after officers were dispatched to a north side address to check the well being of a few children. According to a police report, officers found two children living in deplorable conditions inside the residence. Both Velazquez Rosario and Mojica Reyes were placed into custody and taken to the city jail pending arraignment.
