JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Vanessa R. Stevens, 35, of Jamestown was charged April 12 with second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Northside address for a report of an unwanted person, and an order of protection violation. Upon arrival, officers discovered Stevens inside the victim’s residence. Further investigation confirmed that Stevens had an active order of protection against her to stay away from the victim, and the victim’s residence. Stevens was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. She will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Michael S. Cook, 52, of Jamestown, was charged April 12 with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. According to police, at about 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a Southside location for a reported domestic dispute. Officers located Cook walking away from the location, and officers also located the victim in a nearby residence. Through investigation, officers learned that Cook allegedly had pushed the victim, and then grabbed her by the throat while applying pressure. Cook was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.

– Serena T. Ellis of Jamestown was charged April 11 with second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 5:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Southside residence for a person allegedly violating an order of protection. Upon arrival, officers located Ellis at the residence, where there is an active order of protection for her to stay away. She was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. She will be in city court later.

– Daniel D. Pokrajac, 32, of Jamestown, was charged April 10 with being a fugitive from justice. According to police, at about 5:15 p.m., officers were on patrol near Charles Street and Cowden Place. Officers observed a motor vehicle with an equipment violation, so officers initiated a traffic stop. Through investigation it was discovered Pokrajac, the driver, had multiple felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants from Florida. Pokrajac was placed into custody without incident, and was taken to the city jail. He is being held while he awaits extradition. Pokrajac also was issued several traffic tickets.

– Dustin D. Smouse, 30, of Jamestown was charged April 10 with fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 8 p.m., officers responded to a southwest address for a report of a woman screaming for help. Through investigation, it was discovered that Smouse allegedly damaged a quantity of household items during a domestic dispute with a person who has an active order of protection against him. Smouse was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.

– Julio A. Arizmendi, 20, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 2:14 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on the east side for alleged traffic infractions. Through investigation, it was found that Arizmendi was violating an order of protection with two victims in the vehicle. He was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. Arizmendi will be in city court later.
