JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Marc A. Staples Jr. 22, of Buffalo, was charged April 8 with disorderly conduct, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 1:37 a.m., officers were in the area of East Eighth Street and Lakeview Avenue, when they observed a physical domestic incident occurring on the sidewalk. Officers intervened, and identified the male half of the dispute as Staples. Police said Staples attempted to physically interfere with officers, and allegedly refused officers’ commands, and pulled away from officers while they tried to place him in custody. After a brief struggle, Staples was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail, and will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Jesse J. Young, 29, was charged April 8 with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal obstruction of breathing. According to police, at about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a westside address for a reported domestic dispute. It was found that Young allegedly assaulted and obstructed the breathing of another person. During the incident, it was also found that Young allegedly endangered the welfare of a child as well. He was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. Young will be in city court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
– David Harris, 37, of Westfield, was charged April 7 with second-degree harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, at about 10:09 a.m., officers, and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Thru Way Motel for a call of a disorderly person fighting with the caller. Through investigation, it was determined that Harris allegedly struck a juvenile during an altercation in the parking lot. Harris was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He will be in Westfield Town Court later.
