Area Police Reports
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Jeffrey M. Smith, 36, of Jamestown was charged April 6 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 5:52 p.m., officers responded to a westside address for a person with a weapon complaint. Officers, police said, were advised that Smith had armed himself with a baseball bat, he allegedly used the bat to damage a refrigerator belonging to the victim inside the residence. Smith was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Michael S. Cook, 52, of Jamestown, and Ashley M. Stingel, 34, of Jamestown were both charged April 4 with third-degree criminal trespass. According to police, at about 11:45 a.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a trespass complaint. Upon arrival, officers located Cook, and Stingel inside the condemned residence. Both were placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. Cook, and Stingel will be in city court later.
– Sven C. Anderson, 23, of Jamestown, was charged April 5 with driving while intoxicated, and aggravated DWI per se. According to police, at about 4:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. Through investigation, it was found that Anderson was the vehicle’s operator, and allegedly was intoxicated. He was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Stephanie K. Derby was charged April 6 with petit larceny, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 10:28 p.m., officers arrived at Walmart, 350 E. Fairmount Ave., for an in-progress shoplifting. Derby was placed into custody, and officers located $311.74 of store merchandise Derby allegedly had concealed on her person. Officers also found Derby to be in alleged possession of methamphetamine. She will be in Busti Town Court later.
TOWN OF ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Rodolfo C. Tanco III, 43 , of Falconer was charged April 7 with second-degree harassment, third-degree assault, third-degree menacing, and criminal obstruction of breathing. According to police, at about 1:24 a.m., officers responded to an assault at the Budget Inn, where it is alleged that Tanco had an altercation with the victim. Police said Tanco did not allow the victim to leave the room by pinning the victim against the wall by the throat, and took a knife, and held it to the victim’s cheek. The victim eventually was able to get away and fled from the Budget Inn. Officers filed for a warrant, and while investigating a separate incident, officers located Tanco. Police said, Tanco also had another outstanding warrant out of the town of Ellicott Police Department for a separate incident that occurred in 2022. Tanco was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment, and will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Shaun P. Clutter, 38 , of Jamestown was charged April 3 with third-degree assault. According to police, at about 7:04 p.m., officers responded to an assault, where it is alleged Clutter was in a verbal altercation with the victim. Police said Clutter allegedly struck the victim in the nose causing injury to the victim. Clutter left the scene before police arrival and was later located in Jamestown. Clutter was placed into custody, and taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment. The victim was treated on scene by Falconer fire and then taken to UPMC for further medical attention. Clutter will be in town court later.
– Nayda I. Dejesus, 59 , of Jamestown was charged April 6 with petit larceny. According to police, officers responded to a shoplifting in progress, where it is alleged Dejesus left Target, 975 Fairmount Ave., without paying for merchandise that was inside of her personal bag. Dejesus was issued an appearance ticket and will be in town court later.
