CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— GERRY — A town resident is facing animal cruelty charges after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies found a dead ball python in his residence.

On March 19 at about 06:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a Route 380 address. After an investigation, it was found that Austin Billick, 23, neglected to care for the reptile, which was found deceased inside its enclosure with no food, water or heat source that is required for a ball python’s survival.

Billick was charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance and will answer charges later in town court.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Tinesha L. Smith, 51, of Jamestown was charged March 17 with felony driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, and operating out of class. According to police, at about 9:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to Ohio Avenue for a vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle stuck in the snow in a front yard with the rear of the vehicle partially in the road, and the front of the vehicle partially blocking the sidewalk. Officers, police said, made contact with the operator Smith. Through investigation it was determined Smith allegedly was operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. She was placed into custody, and taken to LBPD for further processing. It was discovered that Smith previously was convicted of DWI within the past 10 years. She will be in Busti Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Robert Kennedy VI, 30, was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 3:47 p.m., officers responded to a Northside address for a report of a domestic incident. Through investigation, officers determined Kennedy allegedly damaged property of another person during the course of the dispute. Kennedy was advised by offiers that he was under arrest, police said he actively resisted arrest., After a brief struggle, Kennedy was placed into custody, and was taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.

— Stephanie F. Green, 50, was charged Tuesday with third-degree criminal trespass. According to police, at about 6:22 p.m., officers responded to a Northside condemned residence. Officers made entry into the residence, and located Green. Police said Green did not have permission to occupy the residence per Jamestown Department of Development. She was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. Green will be in city court later.
