JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Timothy W. Ellis, 58, of Jamestown was charged March 18 with third-degree burglary, and petit larceny. According to police, at about 11:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Allen Street and Foote Avenue for a report of a man that matched the description of a suspect from a burglary complaint that occurred at a Southside business. Police said the man had fled the scene prior to officers arriving, but as officers were on scene speaking with the owner of the business, the man re-appeared. Officers pursued the man who was placed into custody and identified as Ellis. He was taken to Jamestown City Jail and will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Dashawn M. Davis, 37, of Niagara Falls, was charged March 19 with driving while ability impaired by drugs. According to police, at about 1:14 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on the east side. Officers made contact with Davis, and following an investigation, it was determined that Davis allegedly was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs. Davis was placed into custody without incident, and was taken to the city jail. Davis will be in city court later.

– Cody J. Winchell, 37, was charged March 12 with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Police said, at about 6:07 a.m., officers responded to the south side for a report of a person sleeping in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed Winchell sleeping inside of a running vehicle parked on a city street. Through investigation, it was determined Winchell allegedly was operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Winchell was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Barbara J. Phillips, 70, of the town of Angola was charged March 18 with driving while intoxicated, and DWI per se. According to officials, at about 9:16 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover, and the operator was identified as Phillips. Officials said her vehicle had no front license plate. Further investigation found Phillips to be allegedly driving while intoxicated. Phillips will be in Hanover Town Court later.
