JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Amy M. Anderson, 39, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree assault. According to police, at 8:05 p.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was determined that Anderson allegedly had struck her juvenile son with a plastic bat as a form of disciplinary action. The incident caused injury and swelling on the top of her son’s head. Anderson was placed into custody without incident, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. She will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Timothy A. Cook, 38, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and being a fugitive from justice. According to police, at about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was found that Cook had an outstanding arrest warrant from Pennsylvania. Cook was placed into custody without incident, and search revealed that he was in alleged possession of a quantity of methamphetamine on his person. He was taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE
DEPARTMENT
— A Syracuse man is facing charges after an incident Monday. At approximately 8:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Route 5 and McKinley Road in the town of Westfield for a report of a male subject walking along the road yelling.
Officers made contact with the individual, identified as Evan W. Bartlett, 55, who stated he had run out of gas and parked his vehicle on the north shoulder of Route 5 while seeking assistance. During the investigation, officers observed signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, which Bartlett allegedly failed. Bartlett was taken into custody and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony DWI – per se, felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator.
Officers also located an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, resulting in an additional charge of Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Police determined Bartlett was operating on a revoked license and had a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, making the DWI charges felonies.
Bartlett was released and will return to the Town of Westfield Court at a later date.
