JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Saron W. Leeper, 54, of Jamestown, was charged March 2 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 3:29 .m., officers observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at Charles and Superior streets. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and identified Leeper as the driver. During the course of the investigation, police said, officers recovered a quantity of cocaine that was individually packaged and consistent with intent to sell. Leeper was placed into custody without incident, and was taken to the Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Emanuel J. Pagan, 29, of Jamestown, was charged March 2 with two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said, at about 1:30 p.m., officers received a complaint regarding a domestic dispute that happened near Fairmount and McDaniel avenues. The victim stated, police said, that her boyfriend, Pagan, had been driving erratically and swerving in and out of traffic while yelling at the victim, and acting aggressively toward her. At the time of the alleged incident, both the victim, and a one-year-old child were riding as passengers in the vehicle. Officers made contact with Pagan at his residence, and placed him into custody without incident. He was taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.

– Jasmine M. Davis, 34, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 27 with second-degree harassment while Elijah T. McBride, 23, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 8:42 p.m., officers responded to the Foote Avenue plaza for a reported fight. Upon arrival, officers located the victim seated inside a parked vehicle that had sustained damage, as well as Davis nearby. Through investigation, it was determined that Davis approached the victim’s vehicle, allegedly struck it, and made alleged threats while the victim remained in the locked vehicle. McBride also approached the vehicle, allegedly threw items at it, and then struck the driver-side mirror, breaking it. Police said the vehicle additionally sustained a broken windshield, and food debris was observed on the vehicle’s exterior. Davis was placed into custody at the scene while McBride fled prior to the arrival of officers, but was located shortly after at a separate location and placed into custody. Davis and McBride were taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.

– James G. Hall, 46, of Jamestown, was charged March 3 with second-degree harassment, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 12:48 a.m., officers responded to the warming center at 917 Washington St., for a report of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Hall, and through investigation it was determined that Hall allegedly had struck a victim inside the shelter. Hall was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Jessie J. Estus, 29 , of Lakewood, was charged Feb. 26 with petit larceny. According to police, at about 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint, where it is alleged Estus left a local establishment without paying for several items. Estus was transported to EPD for processing and later released with an appearance ticket. Estus will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT

— A Dunkirk man is facing charges after swinging a machete while walking near the 300 block of Main Street on Sunday night.

Jonathan Gonzalez-Colon, 34, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment. At approximately 8:22 p.m., Dunkirk Police officers responded to calls of a man wielding a large machete and wildly swinging it at passersby. Upon arrival officers observed the suspect, later identified as Gonzalez-Colon. Gonzalez-Colon refused officers commands to drop the machete, and then spit in the face of an officer while being taken into custody.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and issued appearance tickets.
