CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Brooke Rasumus Gilbert, 33, of Dunkirk, was charged Feb. 9 with third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to officials, around 5:43 p.m. deputies responded to a fight at Mechanic Street and Central Avenue in the Village of Silver Creek. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was determined that Gilbert allegedly punched another person in the face causing physical injury, and which broke the victim’s glasses. Gilbert was placed into custody, taken to Chautauqua County Jail. She will be in Silver Creek Village Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Joseph E. Snow, 61, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 9 with driving while intoxicated. According to police, at about 7:48 p.m., officers were conducting an unrelated traffic stop when they observed a vehicle crash into a nearby snowbank. Officers identified Snow as the vehicle’s driver. Upon further investigation, it was found that Snow allegedly was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
