CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— STOCKTON — At 2:28 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office observed a traffic infraction. When initiating the stop, the vehicle fled the scene. The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Eric J. Johnson, 46, of Jamestown. Johnson was charged with DWI, DWI per se, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a lawful order, reckless driving, speed over 55 mph zone, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper or unsafe turn without a signal and failure to keep right. Johnson was then transported to the Centralized Arraignment Program. He will answer charges at the Stockton Town Court later.
— PANAMA — At 8:07 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a report of a physical altercation in the village. Through an investigation it was determined that Charles A. Zellefrow, 46, of Panama did obstruct the breathing of another person in the residence during the altercation. This incident did happen in front of a child. Zellefrow was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment on the charges of criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
— At 10:36 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret. The operator was identified as Brian P Wojcinski, 44, of Pomfret. Further investigation found Wojcinski to be driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and inadequate plate lamps.
He will answer for his charges at the Pomfret Town Court later.
— HANOVER — At 5:39 p.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle complaint. Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with the operator of the vehicle, 61-year-old Randy J. Gibbon of Silver Creek. Upon further investigation Gibbon was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He was taken to the substation and later released to return to town court later.
— BROCTON — A Sunday morning altercation has led to charges for a village resident. Deputies and New York State Police at Fredonia responded to an address on West Main Street at 9:13 a.m. Upon arrival the parties involved were interviewed and identified. Subjects on scene notified law enforcement of an altercation between two of the individuals who were present. Subsequent investigation into the matter led to the arrest of a male suspect, 44-year-old Brian Trask. Trask was taken into custody and charged with second-degree harassment and second-degree aggravated harassment. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Sven C. Anderson, 23, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
At 6:19 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a residence on the South East side of the city for a physical domestic dispute in progress. Through an investigation it was discovered that the suspect, Anderson, held the victim down for an extended period of time and did not allow the victim to leave their bedroom. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
— Jaden M. Caraballo, 20, of Jamestown, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
At around 6:11 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a residence on the East side of the city
for a criminal mischief complaint. Through an investigation, it was discovered that
Caraballo cut the cord to the victim’s video camera that was placed above the door to the victim’s apartment. Officers placed Caraballo into custody while on scene and transported her to Jamestown City Jail.
