CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Daryl D. Dunagan, 57, of Georgetown, was charged Dec. 18 with petit larceny. According to officials, On Dec. 9, 2025 around 6 p.m, deputies responded to a business on Shortman Road in the town of Ripley for a past tense shoplifting complaint. Through investigation it is alleged that Dunagan did take merchandise and consumable goods from the business on multiple occasions. Dunagan will be in Ripley Town Court later.
– Deputies continue their investigation of a motor vehicle accident On Dec. 19. in Silver Creek. According to officials, around 7:56 a.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle-pedestrian accident at Main Street and Central Avenue. As a result of the accident, one adult female was transported to ECMC Hospital in Buffalo by Silver Creek Fire Department for her injuries. No charges have been filed yet.
– A car chase involving a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputy ended in an accident in Portland on Sunday. According to a news release, around 10:04 p.m. Sunday a deputy attempted to pull a vehicle over on Route 380 for an alleged traffic violation. The driver led deputies on a short pursuit that ended when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The driver was injured and was taken by helicopter to a local hospital. The investigation is continuing. No names have been released yet.
JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Ramael O. Fields, 34, of Jamestown was charged Dec. 18 with tampering with physical evidence, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 6:04 p.m., officers conducted a bicycle traffic stop in the area of Willard and Allen streets for observed equipment violations. While speaking with Fields, officers observed suspected illegal drugs in a plastic bags that was protruding from a coat pocket. Once the bag was attempted to be retrieved by officers, Fields began to flee on foot. Officers were able to subdue Fields, and placed him into custody after a brief physical struggle. Police said that during the course of the foot pursuit and physical struggle, Fields allegedly threw the bag of suspected drugs into a storm drain in an attempt to destroy evidence. Officers, police added, were able to retrieve the bag which allegedly contained a quantity of methamphetamine. Fields was taken to Jamestown City Jail, and will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Jamie M. Nixon, 41, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 11:54 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. Officers allegedly saw a driver commit a moving violation on the city’s west side and pulled the vehicle over. Nixon was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. Nixon was charged, taken to the city jail and released with appearance tickets to be in court later.
