Area Police Reports
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Mahlon Coblentz, 22, of Stockton, was charged Dec. 16 with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, making an unsafe lane change, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. According to officials, at about 11:31 p.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident in the town of Stockton. The operator was identified as Coblentz. Through investigation it was determined that Mahlon was allegedly operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. Mahlon was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Mahlon was later released with tickets to appear in Stockton Town Court later.
– Mackenzie L. Smith, 39, of Franklinville, was charged Dec. 17 with petit larceny. According to officials, at about 6:49 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Country Fair in the town of Gerry for a report of a shoplifting. Through investigation, it was alleged Smith had taken consumable merchandise from the store and left without paying. Smith was later located on Bennett Road in the town of Pomfret by CCSO patrol. Smith was placed into custody, and later released Smith will be in Gerry Town Court later.
ELLICOTT TOWN POLICE
– Adam W. Hale, 42 , of Meadville, Pa., was charged Dec. 9 with DWI, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and with having no seat belt. According to police, at about 12:23 a.m., officers responded to a traffic stop where Hale was observed allegedly not using a seat belt. Upon further investigation, police said, Hale showed signs of alleged impairment. He was placed in custody, and taken to county jail. Hale will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Zachary A. Evans, 30 , of Falconer was charged Dec. 10 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and failure to signal a turn. According to police, at about 2:01 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop after observing Evans allegedly failing to signal for a lefthand turn. Upon further investigation, police said, Evans showed signs of alleged impairment. Evans was placed into custody, and taken to Ellicott Police Department. He will be in town court later.
– Cardiair L. Springfield-Jones , 30 , of Jamestown was charged Dec. 14 with criminal contempt. According to police, officers responded to a reported domestic incident where it is alleged Springfield-Jones violated an active order of protection. Springfield-Jones will be in town court later.
