Pets perish in morning Dunkirk fire

DUNKIRK — Dunkirk firefighters battled a blaze Sunday morning on Lord Street where a number of pets perished.

Officials say the Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a window at 106 Lord St. around 7:21 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire on the first floor in the rear of the home.

Firefighters brought the fire under control using two hose lines and tools. The house suffered significant interior damage. Assistance was received from the Dunkirk Police Department, Fredonia Fire Department, East Dunkirk Fire Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, Chautauqua County EMS, Alstar EMS, City Code Enforcement, National Grid and National Fuel. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours. There were no other injuries as a result of the fire.

The occupants of the house are being assisted by the Red Cross. City and Chautauqua County Fire Investigators are currently working to determine the cause.

Jamestown man charged after domestic threat

A 22-year-old city man is facing charges after threatening to kill another individual.

Jayden K. Feaster was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree menacing after an incident around noon Friday. Jamestown police were dispatched to a residence on the west side for a report of a person armed with a weapon. The investigation revealed that Feaster threatened to kill the victim while armed with a knife during a domestic incident. This conduct violated a valid refrain from order of protection.

Feaster was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail and was being held pending arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— MAYVILLE — At about 4:05 p.m. Nov. 17, deputies responded to an address for a past tense assault complaint.

After an investigation it was found that on Nov. 7, Jeromy G. Brownell, 35, of Mayville did intentionally cause physical injury to another person. Brownell was charged with third-degree assault. He will be in town court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Jarried M. Dean, 33, of Jamestown was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. Thursday, officers were on patrol in the area of Forest Avenue and observed Dean walking with an electric bike. Officers were aware that a similar bike had recently been reported stolen from a Jamestown southside business.

Dean was found to have an active warrant through the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody, at which time officers located a quantity of suspected fentanyl in his possession. Officers also confirmed that the bike in Dean’s possession was the stolen bike reported earlier. Dean was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was being held pending arraignment.

— Rusty A. Wallace, 30, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and having an unregistered motor vehicle.

At about 3:45 a.m. Friday, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Crossman and Winsor streets for a traffic infraction. Through investigation, it was found that Wallace was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Wallace was placed into custody without incident and transported to the city jail.

— Todd C. Dangelo, 60, was charged with driving while intoxicated and speed not reasonable or prudent

At around 9:13 p.m. Friday, officers stopped a vehicle on Foote Avenue near Allen Street after observing traffic infractions. Upon making contact with the male operator, identified as Dangelo, a further investigation into the stop discovered that he was operating the motor vehicle in an intoxicated state. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was being held pending arraignment.

— Alejandro Gonzalez, 43, of Dunkirk, was arrested Oct. 29 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and six vehicle and traffic law infractions.

— Asabela Marrero-Pagan, 18, of Dunkirk, was arrested Oct. 30 and charged with petit larceny.

— Akyia Crowe, 40, of Dunkirk, was arrested Oct. 30 and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

— Tina Schroeder, 24, of Dunkirk, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.

— Kimberly Ferguson, 41, of Westfield, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and five vehicle and traffic law infractions.

— Derek Coombs, 39, homeless, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with trespass.

— Francisco Roman, 45, homeless, was arrested Nov. 4 and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, five counts of trespass, and two vehicle and traffic law infractions.

— Leanne White, 41, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 4 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

— Kareem Caldwell, 25, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 6 and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment.

— Carlos Figueroa, 50, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 7 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, and unlicensed operator.

— Jarret Sikes, 46, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 8 and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

— Onaidelys Morales Serrano, 22, of Rochester, was arrested Nov. 8 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator.

— Jeremy Smith, 26, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 9 and charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

— Abimael Muniz-Gonzalez, no age listed, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 9 and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, and three vehicle and traffic law infractions.

— Sparkelynn Odebralski, 44, homeless, was arrested Nov. 12 and charged with second-degree criminal trespass and trespass.

— Christian Ayala Gonzalez, 38, homeless, was arrested Nov. 12 and charged with petit larceny.

— Fernando Rivera, 23, of Jamestown, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with trespass.

— Stephen Falkner, 37, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, possession of burglar’s tools, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and petit larceny.

— Daniel Jennings Jr., 42, of Buffalo, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree harassment.

— Daniel Hempeck, 37, of Dunkirk, was arrested Nov. 16 and charged with third-degree criminal trespass.
