Man charged after use of shotgun in altercation

SINCLAIRVILLE — A village man is facing charges after discharging a shotgun during an altercation.

Around 11:34 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to an address on Main Street. Upon arrival, units learned that the male was identified as 28-year-old William F. Borkowski Jr. and had fled the scene. After a thorough investigation units had located Borkowski a short time later and took him into custody without issue. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing.

He was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment. He will return to the town of Charlotte court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— POLAND — Around 6:14 a.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a residence for an unwanted person. Through an investigation, it was alleged that Justin J. Nickerson, 21, of Kennedy, had unlawfully entered and remained in a residence that he did not have permission to enter.

He was later charged with third-degree criminal trespass. He was later transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

JAMESTOWN POLICE

DEPARTMENT

— Robert D. Ridgeway Jr., 44, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment.

At about 10:46 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a South side address for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers learned that Ridgeway pushed a female who is the protected party in an order of protection. Ridgeway was placed into custody without incident and transported to the city jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
