CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Jouseph L. Velazquez, 24, of Jamestown was charged Oct. 25 with speeding, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and having front/side windows that are non transparent. According to officials, around 1:54 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in Jamestown for a speeding violation. Through investigation and confrontation, Velazquez was identified as the vehicle’s operator. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– James T. Leonard, 18, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 28 with third-degree assault. According to police, at about 3:28 a.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a reported domestic incident. After arrival, and upon further investigation it was found that Leonard allegedly assaulted a female by striking her in the face multiple times with his fist. Leonard was located at his residence after the incident. Leonard was taken to Jamestown City Jail, and will be in city court later.
