CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Deputies aided the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department Oct. 6th as firefighters responded to an East Slide Hill Road address for a reported fire in the town of Ripley. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators were able to determine that the fire was caused by discarded cooking materials from an outdoor smoker. The fire was ruled as accidental in nature.

– Jamie P. Waclawski, 52, of Dunkirk, was charged Oct. 6 with petit larceny. According to officials, at about 11:33 a.m., deputies responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business in Gerry. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Waclawski allegedly stole merchandise from the business without paying for it. With the assistance of officers from the Jamestown Police Department and the Ellicott Town Police Department deputies located Waclawski in Jamestown. He will be in Gerry Town Court later.

– Shaun P. Clutter, 37, of Falconer, was charged Oct. 5 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to officials, at about 8:30 p.m. at the county jail where Clutter was being detained on an unrelated charge, Clutter allegedly did intentionally strike the phone handset against a cement bloc forcing the handset to shatter. Clutter’s actions required the handset to be replaced, officials said. Clutter remains at the county jail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Leonela Rodriquez, 35, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 5 with third-degree assault, and Darieli Rodriquez, 34, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. According to police, at about 10:29 p.m., officers responded to a fight involving several people at the 7-Eleven store on North Main Street. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and requested EMS as people were actively fighting and several had apparent injuries. Upon further investigation it was found that Darieli Rodriguez entered the store and began provoking customers before allegedly striking and biting a victim. Police said that Leonela Rodriguez, who accompanied Darieli, also allegedly bit an additional victim, causing injury. Both were placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. Both will be in city court later.

– Leanette Arizmendi, 19, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 6 with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, officers responded to a southside address for a reported fight in progress. After arrival, officers spoke with both people involved. Upon further investigation, Arizmendi attempted to initiate the fight again. When being placed in custody, Arizmendi allegedly pulled away from officers, and after a brief struggle, she was placed into custody, and taken to city jail. Arizmendi will be in city court later.
