CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– John J. Kleinfelder, 71, of Mayville, was charged Sept. 26 with driving while intoxicated, and having inadequate plate lamps. According to officials, at about 9:53 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the town of Chautauqua. Upon further investigation Kleinfelder, the driver, was found to be driving while intoxicated. Kleinfelder was placed into custody, and taken to the sheriff’s office. He will be in Chautauqua Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Tyler J. Stakelum, 37, of Jamestown, was charged Sept. 30 with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree menacing, and second-degree harassment. According to police, at about 10:29 a.m., officers responded to a Southside address for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, and after further investigation, it was found that Stakelum allegedly threatened to kill the victim with a knife, and then allegedly struck the victim on the right side of the victim’s face causing an abrasion. Police said the investigation also revealed that the victim had a valid order of protection against Stakelum. Stakelum was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. Stakelum will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Joseph S. Davis, 44, no address given, and Michael R. Shafer, 23, no address given were both charged Oct. 1 with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia while Christine M. Park, no address given, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance,and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. According to police, officers observed a vehicle near Foote Avenue and Harrison Street commit numerous traffic violations. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon further investigation it was found that Davis, the driver, and Park and Shafer, the passengers were all found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a digital scale. It was also found, police said, that Park was found to be in possession of glassine envelopes, and an additional quantity of methamphetamine. Davis also was issued traffic citations. All were placed into custody and taken to city jail, and will be in city court later.
