CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— FRENCH CREEK — At around 12:56 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to an address on Route 426 for a reported altercation. Upon arrival and after conducting an investigation, Brett Rater, 35, and Breeanna Byers, 35, both of French Creek, were charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They were placed in custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
— HANOVER – At around 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of harassment. After an investigation, it was found that 36-year-old Jaralyn E. Majak of Hanover, did violate an order of protection.
Majak was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. Majak was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Austin A. Mancuso, 32, of Jamestown, was charged Sept. 25 with third-degree assault. According to police, at about 2 p.m., officers responded to a westside address for a report of an assault. Upon further investigation, officers determined that Mancuso allegedly struck a victim causing physical injury. Mancuso was located on the property where the alleged incident took place, and was taken into custody without incident. Mancuso was taken to Jamestown City Jail, and will be in city court later.
William R. Gardner, 25, no address given, was charged Sept. 25 with first-degree robbery, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a Northside robbery complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who said that her bag was forcibly stolen by a white male. The victim identified the suspect as Gardner. Upon further investigation, officers determined that while allegedly taking the bag, Gardner also brandished a small machete and allegedly swung it at the victim. Gardner also allegedly damaged the victim’s cellphone. Officers located Gardner at his residence, placed him into custody without incident, and he was taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.
Curtis J. Ashdown, 32, no address given, was charged Sept. 20 with driving while intoxicated, and aggravated DWI – having a blood-alcohol content of more than .18 percent. According to police, officers responded to the area of Foote and Cole avenues near Burger King for a report of an intoxicated driver being disorderly in drive-through. Upon arrival, officers noticed the vehicle was out of the area, and officers did a brief search of the area. Officers located the vehicle on the westside, and made contact with Ashdown. Upon further investigation, it was found that Ashdown allegedly operated the motor vehicle in an intoxicated state. Ashdown was placed into custody, and then taken to city jail. He will be in city court later.
