ELLICOTT POLICE

– Shane E. Waite, 27 , of Ellicott was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of third-degree criminal mischief and three counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment on Tuesday after Ellicott police responded to a disorderly person call where it is alleged Waite was disorderly and began assaulting other people. It is also alleged Waite destroyed several other pieces of property, as well as blocking the doorway to the house preventing the people from reaching juveniles and leaving the residence. Waite was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. Waite will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

– Jordan A. Hargrove, 28, of Falconer, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Friday after Ellicott police responded to a criminal mischief complaint. It is alleged Hargrove punched the window of the Kozy Corner Cleaner in Falconer, breaking the glass. Hargrove was issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellicott Town Court later.

– Max P. Hubbard, 27, of Falconer was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree criminal contempt on July 30. Police officers responded to a reported domestic dispute at the Quality Inn hotel in Falconer, where it is alleged a witness pulled into the parking lot of the Quality Inn and allegedly saw Hubbard hit his child in an injurious way. Hubbard was charged, taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

– Nathan J. Ernewein, 23 , of Falconer was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 30, 2025. Ellicott police responded to assist probation after it was found Ernewein allegedly had fentanyl and crack cocaine. Ernewein was charged and released with an appearance ticket to be in Ellicott Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Two city residents face charges after officers responded to a vehicle larceny report in downtown Jamestown. According to a police report, officers responded to the call at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday and learned that a person’s purse and its contents were taken from a vehicle. An individual attempted to use the person’s credit card at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street a sort time later, which led officers to find Conner A. Dale, 18, of Jamestown. Dale was found by officers at his residence on the west side of the city and allegedly found in possession of Apple Airpods that were taken from the victim. Officers then learned another man was possibly in possession of more of the stolen property. Officers located William E.L. Blakey, 37, on the north side of the city. Blakey was allegedly found in possession of the purse. Both Dale and Blakey were charged and taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned. Dale is charged with fourth- and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property while Blakey was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– Raymond M.. Near, 65, of Portland was charged with third-degree stalking, second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree harassment at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday after deputies responded to an address in Portland for an ongoing complaint. After an investigation it was determined that NEar allegedly repeatedly appeared at a local business causing disruptions. Near was charged and later taken to UPMC Chautauqua for an evaluation. He was charged and will be in Portland Town Court later.

– Fire damaged a home at 133 Lake Ave., Brocton, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Brocton Fire Department along with several mutual aid fire departments, Chautauqua County EMS, New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Crestview Estates Mobile Home Park, 133 Lake Ave., Brocton for a reported structure fire with entrapment. One man was taken by ambulance to an Erie hospital for treatment. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. That investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the New York State Police.

– Daniel L Ulrich, 39, was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after deputies responded to a report of an assault on Knight Street in Silver Creek. Ulrich was charged and taken to the county jail to be arraigned.
