JAMESTOWN POLICE
– John L. Alvarez, 36, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree attempted robbery July 9 after officers were dispatched to the downtown area for a reported fight. Officers located a 19-year-old laying on the ground who said he was jumped by an unknown male. Officers say they located John Lopez Alvarez nearby. Alvarez allegedly was punching and kicking the victim while he was on the ground and stated he was going to take the victim’s property until a passerby yelled out and deterred Alvarez. Alvarez was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Tarice A. Echevarria, 30, and Jordan T. Berry, 20, both of Jamestown face charges after a warrant investigation at the Wine Cellar at 1:37 a.m. Thursday. Officers on patrol in the area of The Wine Cellar 309 N. Main St., were alerted to a fight. Once it was discovered that there was no physical altercation, officers turned their attention to Echevarria, a wanted person inside the bar with a confirmed warrant from Jamestown City Court. He was placed into custody without incident. At the time of his arrest, Echevarria allegedly attempted to hand off his personal belongings to another male, Jordan T. Berry, who allegedly tried to conceal the items from officers. Police allege the items included suspected narcotics. Berry then allegedly provided officers with a false date of birth due to the fact that he was inside of the bar underage. Berry was also placed into custody and both men were taken to the city jail. Both were charged with two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and two counts of tampering with physical evidence while Berry was also charged with false personation.
– Priscilla L. Karnuth, 36, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and a bench warrant at 7:55 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to an east side address for a report of an unwanted person. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim. Upon further investigation, it was found that Karnuth was violating a valid stay away Order of Protection with the victim at the residence. Officers also had prior knowledge of an outstanding bench warrant for Karnuth from Jamestown City Court. Karnuth was charged and taken to the city jail until she could be arraigned.
– Tyler Cahill, 27, and Christina Forrest, 33, both of Jamestown, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count each of overdriving, torturing or injuring animals; failure to provide sustenance, at 5:05 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to an address on the south side of Jamestown to check the well being of two small children and a dog. Police report the children and dog were found to be living in deplorable conditions while in the care of Cahill and Forrest. Both were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.
– Emma Morgan, 21, of Jamestown, and Tiffany Puccillo, 24, of Jamestown, were each charged with endangering the welfare of a child after officers responded to a domestic dispute at 2:23 p.m. Thursday at a downtown apartment building. Officers were called to the scene by Jamestown firefighters and Child Protective Services to check the well-being of a juvenile child. Upon arrival, it was determined that a young juvenile victim was living in extremely deplorable conditions. Morgan and Pucillo, the parents of the child, were charged and taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned. The juvenile victim was turned over to a family member and taken to UPMC for evaluation and treatment.
– Margaret A. Connolly, 47, of Jamestown was charged with public lewdness and second-degree obstructing governmental administration at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to the north side for a reported neighbor dispute. While speaking to the parties involved, it was discovered that Connolly allegedly exposed herself to her neighbor. During the investigation Connolly allegedly went inside her home and locked the door to prevent officers from taking her into custody. She allegedly refused to open the door or come out to speak with the officers for a brief time period, however she did finally come out and was taken into custody. Connolly was taken to the city jail until she could be arraigned.
WESTFIELD POLICE
– Levi A. Cross, 24, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on Wednesday after officers responded to 7651 Route 20, Lot 12, for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was determined that Cross was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a woman that police say led to a physical altercation during which Cross allegedly pushed the woman to the ground multiple times. The fight took place in the presence of a 3-year-old child. The woman told officers that Cross had fled the scene before police arrived. Officers found Cross Thursday after he was involved in a separate incident at the same location. Cross was arrested and taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment.
Angel M. Travis, 23, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 7:43 p.m. July 8 after officers were alerted by several concerned citizens of an unattended child playing on the shoulder of Route 20. Officers responded to find a 3-year-old playing on the shoulder of the road unsupervised. A short time later, officers report Travis arrived and took the child home. She was charged and taken to the county jail for arraignment.
– Xovier Nieves, 41, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday after a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling east on East Main Street, Westfield, after officers saw smoke coming from the front passenger-side tire. According to the police report, officers pulled the vehicle over out of concern for the safety of the operator, passengers, and other motorists. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Nieves, the driver, had an active Order of Protection to stay away from someone in the vehicle at the time. Nieves was charged, taken to the Westfield Police Department for processing and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. Nieves will be in Westfield Town Court later.
