CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT
– Max Thompson, age 38, homeless of Jamestown, was sentenced Sept. 25 by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of 5 years with 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of second-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D violent felony. In November 2023, Thompson was arrested by the Jamestown Police Department after he damaged property to the UCAN City Mission and made threats towards employees. Following the arrest, the police located a loaded pistol in Thompson’s possession and charged him with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C violent felony. On July 23, Thompson pleaded guilty to the lesser charge. He was sentenced as a predicate felon for having more than one felony conviction in 10 years. District Attorney Jason Schmidt would like to thank the Jamestown Police Department for their hard work on this case. This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Andrew Molitor.
– Tyler Davis, 29, of Forestville, was sentenced Sept. 30 by Judge Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of five years with two years of post-release supervision after being convicted of two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony. In November 2023, Davis was arrested following an investigation by the State Police and indictment by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury. Davis was originally charged with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class A-II felony, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charges on July 30. Schmidt would like to thank the State Police for their hard work on this case. This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Erik Bentley.
