CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— HANOVER — At 10:01 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Alleghany Road. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Veronica T. Scordato of Williamsville. Further investigation found Scordato to be driving while intoxicated. Scordato was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and failing to stop at a stop sign. She will answer her charges in town court later.

— HANOVER — At around 10:26 p.m. Thursday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported one car motor vehicle accident. Once on scene the operator was identified as 21-year-old Jose A. Hernandez Juarez. Through further investigation it was found that Hernandez Juarez was driving while intoxicated. Hernandez Juarez was then charged with DWI, DWI per se and failing to keep right. Hernandez Juarez will be in town court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— A Jamestown and Buffalo man are facing charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and a weapon.

At around 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, officers conducted the stop on Prendergast Avenue.

Through an investigation it was found that Dion J. Carr, 40, of Buffalo and Charles N. Dean, 26, were in possession of 112 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9mm semi automatic handgun, two digital scales and $491, which is suspected to be proceeds from drug sales. During the traffic stop, Carr attempted to flee on foot and was quickly apprehended.

Carr and Dean were both charged with second, third and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Carr was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration and Dean was also found to have a warrant out of Jamestown City Court. Both were being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
