CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— GERRY — At about 8:12 a.m. Friday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies checked the well-being of a subject who had fallen off their motorcycle at the intersection of Gerry Levant Road and Route 60. The operator, who was uninjured, was identified as Reid L. Johnson, 54, of Kennedy. Through further investigation, it was found that Johnson had been operating the motorcycle while intoxicated. Johnson was subsequently charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC of 0.18% or greater and driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to be in the Town of Gerry court to answer to the charges.
— MAYVILLE — At around 2 a.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a leaving the scene of an accident at 13 Water St. The suspect vehicle was later located at a different location and the operator was identified as Daniel S. Taylor, 32, of Ripley. Further investigation found Taylor to be driving while intoxicated. Taylor was charged with DWI and will be in the Town of Chautauqua Court on a later date and time.
— SHERMAN — At around 4 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 430. The operator was identified as Mahlon N. Detweiler, 22, of Orwell, Ohio. Further investigation found Detweiler to be driving while intoxicated. Detweiler was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and throwing refuse on a highway. He will answer for his charges in the Town of Sherman Court on a later date and time.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Tyren L Wofford, 20, was charged with public lewdness and second-degree harassment.
At 3:29 a.m. Saturday, officers went to 7 S. Main St. for a suspicious situation. Through an investigation it was found that L Wofford exposed his genitals to a person and also struck a person with
his fist. Tyren was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.
— Philip A. Johnson, 49, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At approximately 11:24 p.m. Friday, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of West Sixth and Cherry streets for observed traffic violations. Throughout the course of the investigation, officers discovered that Johnson, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of 6.7 grams of cocaine HCL. He was taken in to custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
— Desteny Badgley, 34, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree assault.
Around 9:50 p.m. Friday, officers responded to an east side address for a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers contacted a victim who had sustained an injury to the face. Through an
investigation, it was determined that Badgley had assaulted the victim. It was additionally found that there was an order of protection in place for Badgley to refrain from offensive contact against the victim. She was placed into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
