JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Michael A. Bane, 24, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault after an incident Sunday evening.

Officers respnded to an address on the south side of town at 10:17 p.m. for a reported fight. Officers allege Bane hit a woman in the face with a metal rod. Bane was taken to the city jail for arraignment and will be in court later.

– Gerald A. Samuels Sr., 42, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded to a south side address Monday evening for a complaint of a lost child. Officers arrived at the location at 4:15 p.m. where the child was allegedly returned. Officers report that the child was allegedly left in the care and supervision of Samuels, who is also the child’s grandfather. Officers report Samuels had allegedly fallen asleep, and the child walked out of the residence and was found by a neighbor walking through a parking lot. The child was unharmed. Samuels was charged and will be in court later.

MAYVILLE – Allan Detweiler, 42, of Sherman was sentenced by Judge David Foley to seven years in prison with two years of post-release supervision after being convicted of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. In October 2022, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a search warrant in the town of Sherman and arrested Detweiler for criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine. Detweiler pled guilty to a lesser charge on January 4 because of a plea agreement that also covered pending matters in the village of Sherman and town of Westfield.

Allan Detweiler, 42, of Sherman, was sentenced Tuesday by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison term of 7 years with 2 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

In October 2022, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office conducted a search warrant in the town of Sherman and arrested Allan Detweiler for second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, after he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine. Detweiler pleaded guilty to the lesser charge on Jan. 4 as a result of a plea agreement that also covered pending matters in the village of Sherman and town of Westfield.
