JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Three city residents are facing charges after a traffic stop on Huxley Street near Front at 8 p.m. Friday.

During the course of the probe, officers determined that Randall K. Mesler, 55, Stephen H. Cassidy, 48, and Christopher S. Haberberger, 39, were all in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and a billy club. Cassidy was also found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. Due to all subjects being in possession of the weapon while also having all been previously convicted of a wide variety of crimes, they were all charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Mesler and Haberberger were additionally charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance while Cassidy was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers also determined that Cassidy and Haberberger had outstanding warrants from the Jamestown Police Department. All subjects were held pending arraignment.

— Eric R. Vangiesen, 38, was charged with third- and fourth- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers of the Jamestown Police Department conducted a warrant check at a north side residence. Upon making contact with the target, Vangiesen, officers observed over a half ounce of methamphetamine sitting both on and in close proximity to a digital scale. Vangiesen was taken into custody without incident. In a search incident to arrest, officers also located a large quantity of packaging materials.
