Area Police Reports

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SILVER CREEK – Leslie Wright Jr., 47, of Silver Creek was charged Tuesday with second-degree aggravated harassment. It is alleged that Wright left multiple phone messages that served no purpose after being told by deputies in the past to refrain from doing so. He was taken into custody and charged without incident. JAMESTOWN POLICE Nyan J. Maxwell, 26, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest at 9:49 p.m. April 6 after officers responded to a business on Jamestown’s west side for a reported assault. Officers spoke with a person who sustained multiple broken teeth and injuries to his upper lip. Through investigation, it was determined that Nyan J. Maxwell had allegedly picked the victim up and slammed him onto the pavement in the parking lot. The other person needed medical treatment and their prescription eye glasses were broken during the incident. Maxwell was reportedly a short distance away, where he ran from officers after being advised he was under arrest. Maxwell was placed into custody, after falling over a log, and taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
