CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– DUNKIRK – Gwen Steger, 44, of the town of Pomfret was charged with petit larceny. It is alleged that on March 8, Steger stole property from TJ Maxx on Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk. She will answer to the charge in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.

– HANOVER – Eugene Eberhardt, 70, of Silver Creek has been charged with third-degree attempted assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. On March 28 at around 10 p.m., deputies responded to an address on Old Main Road in the town of Hanover for a report of an altercation between two people. Deputies allege Eberhardt attempted to cause physical injuries to another person, damaged property in the residence, and attempted to prevent another person from calling 911. Eberhardt was transported to the county jail for an arraignment and will appear in the Town of Hanover court at a later date and time.

– DUNKIRK – Jonathan Velez Hernandez, 45, of Fredonia was charged with petit larceny. It is alleged he took an item from Tractor Supply Co. on Vineyard Drive without paying for it. He will answer to the charge in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.

– IRVING – Daniel M Wienczkowsi, 51, of Erie, Pa. was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, and speeding. Deputies allege that Wieczkowski was traveling Friday around 6:15 p.m. on Routes 5&20 in Irving at a high rate of speed while intoxicated. He will answer to the charges in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

– GERRY – Jason Flasher, 38, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, moving from lane unsafely, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies allege that Flasher was pulled over on Route 60 in the town of Gerry Sunday around 1 a.m. and was charged following an investigation. He is to answer to the charges in Gerry Town Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE

– A traffic stop at 8:23 a.m. Monday at Foote Avenue and Harrison Street has led to charges against a Brooklyn man and a Willingboro, N.J., man. According to a police report, police pulled a vehicle over for having illegal window tint and the driver, Damani Riley, 28, of Willingboro, N.J., and his passenger, Roger Herivaux, 27, of Brooklyn, allegedly gave false names to officers. Officers allegedly found Herivaux was wanted out of the state of Massachusetts for aggravated assault on a police officer while Riley was allegedly wanted by the US Marshals for a probation violation. Both were also reportedly wanted in connection with fraud cases while officers reported seizing $7,322.00 in US currency as a result of the investigation. Both Herivaux and Riley were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned.

– Andrew P. Cooper, 37, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree assault at 8:06 p.m. Sunday after officers responded to an east side home for a reported physical domestic incident. According to a police report, officers made contact with a woman who told them a man in the apartment engaged in a physical altercation with her. Cooper was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.

– Jose E. Lopez, 26, of Jamestown was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child at 8:18 p.m. Saturday after officers responded to an east side home for a reported domestic incident. Lopez allegedly choked someone, took their phone and damaged property, all while in the presence of children. Lopez was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
