JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT — A garage fire at 63 W. 14th St., which officials believe was intentionally set, caused damage Friday in the city of Jamestown. Firefighters were dispatched to the area of West Fourteenth and Washington streets around 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they found smoke pushing from eaves of single story two-car garage and encountered heavy smoke, but very little fire. Overhead doors were opened to ventilate and an item of funiture was found burned inside with fire, heat, and smoke damage throughout. Minor fire damage on outside and the incident was stabilized within 10 minutes. The incident remains under investigation and the scene was cleared within 75 minutes. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — At around 8:50 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to a shoplifting in progress at TJ MAXX on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk. When deputies arrived on scene they were pointed in the direction of a vehicle that was fleeing the parking lot. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle before they got away. Through investigation it was found that 47-year-old Raymond Santiago from the City of Dunkirk had taken items from TJ MAXX that he did not pay for. Santiago also had multiple active warrants out of multiple different agencies. He was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal impersonation and petit larceny. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment. — VILLENOVA — At around 8:23 p.m. March 3 deputies along with the New York State Police responded to an address for an alleged physical altercation in progress. When deputies arrived on scene and through investigation, it was discovered that Brandie Huston, 27, had Dakota Huston, 27, had both assaulted two separate parties. She was charged with second-degree assault. He was charged with third-degree assault. Both were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Elijah T McBride, 21, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after the 1-year-old consumed marijuana. At approximately 9:24 p.m. Friday, officers responded to UPMC Chautauqua for a suspicious situation. While the child was being treated at the hospital McBride did remove the infant from the hospital, placing the victim in a dangerous situation. He left the hospital for approximately 30 minutes then returned. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail. — Christopher M. Belin, 33, of Jamestown, is facing third-, fourth and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. At 11:16 p.m. Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop on Kidder Street near Broadhead Avenue. During the traffic stop officers determined that Belin was in possession of a quantity of Alprazolam, which is a controlled substance and a digital scale. Belin was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. During a search in the jail, Belin removed a quantity of fentanyl from his buttocks and attempted to consume the narcotics to prevent it being used against him in a trial. — William A. Karolyi, 41, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possesson of a controlled substance. At 02:35 a.m. Saturday, officers of the Third Platoon responded to an eastside location for an alarm. Upon arrival, officers located Karolyi sleeping under a covered porch at the location. He was found to have two arrest warrants and one bench warrant out of Jamestown. He was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. During an inventory of his property in the jail, officers located a quantity of fentanyl. He was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. — Jared I. Card, 43 of Newark, Del., was charged with driving while intoxicated, no seat belt and speed in zone. At 11:27 p.m. Thursday, police stopped a vehicle on Front Street for traffic violations. Through investigation it was determined that the operator had been operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Card was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was processed and released with traffic tickets. — Jacob S. Carr, 34, of Falconer, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance At 3:01 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to 310 Allen St. for an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located Carr who was one of the unwantedsubjects. Carr had an active arrest warrant out of the City of Jamestown. He was placed into custody and a search incident to arrest yielded a quantity of separately packaged Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. He was transported to the Jamestown City jail and was held pending arraignment. — Ervin L. Mitchell, 53, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief after a pair of incidents. At around 10:06 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a person with a weapon complaint at a Northside Jamestown business. Officers on the scene determined that Mitchell brandished a knife in a threatening manner to an employee. Officers placed Mitchell into custody and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail. At around 1:30 PM, officers responded to a Westside business for a report of a disorderly person. Upon arrival, officers determined that Mitchell had broken awindow at the business. Officers once again placed Mitchell into custody and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail. Mitchell was arraigned on this newcharge Saturday and again released.
