JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT

Jamestown Fire Department quickly brought a detached garage blaze under control after it was called to the scene around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Crews responded to 21 Euclid Ave. and upon arrival, members encountered a structure with flames showing from the roof, located approximately 50 feet from the nearest residence. Fire crews had the blaze under control within 10 minutes, and fully extinguished within 30 minutes. Fire crews remained on scene for approximately one hour to extinguish hot spots and perform salvage and overhaul.

No persons were inside the garage at the time the fire started, and no injuries have been reported.

BPU crews secured a downed power line that was damaged as a result of the fire. Alstar Ambulance treated one victim at the fire scene for smoke inhalation.

Jamestown police assisted with traffic, crowd control and investigation of the fire scene. The cause has not yet been determined.

– Kristen L. Pattison, 33, of Jamestown was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal contempt. On Thursday, at 6:40 p.m. officers assigned to the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a South Side residence for a separate larceny complaint. Officers then reported seeing Pattison exit the residence of the victim. During the investigation it was discovered that Pattison had a valid stay away order of protection in force from the victim. Pattison was previously convicted of aggravated criminal contempt. Pattison was then placed into custody and transported to the city jail without incident pending arraignment.

– Joseph J. Lane, 40, of Ithaca was charged with being a fugitive from justice.On Thursday, at the intersection of Windsor and Cresent Street, officers reported seeing a van with equipment violations at 6:50 p.m. Officers then conducted a traffic stop of the observed van at the Dollar General parking lot on Windsor Street. The operator of the vehicles was positively identified as Lane, who had an outstanding warrant based out of Sullivan County, Pa. The warrant was confirmed by officials from the Pennsylvania State by Police based out of Laporte, Pa. according to a Jamestown Police Department press release. Lane was then transported to the city jail and is pending arraignment.

– Erika C. Marshall-Lopez, 27, of Jamestown was arrested and charged with allegedly driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra’s Law-Felony) endangering the welfare of a child, improper/no signal and failure to keep right. On Friday morning at 12:35 a.m. officers assigned to the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon were patrolling downtown when they allegedly observed a vehicle fail to signal away from the curb, and then drive into the oncoming lane of traffic. Officers then initiated a traffic stop for the vehicle and contacted the driver, identified as Marshall-Lopez. Through investigation, it was found that Marshall-Lopez allegedly was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. It was also reported that Marshall-Lopez had a 2-year old child inside of the vehicle. Marshall-Lopez was taken into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
