Victim identified in Villenova accident

VILLENOVA — The victim has been identified in a fatal utility vehicle accident late Saturday.

In a news release issued early Wednesday, deputies said William L. Shreve, 64, of Westfield was the operator of the vehicle.

At around 11:36 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and South Dayton Fire Department responded to Dye Road for a reported motor vehicle accident. An investigation found that a Utility Terrain Vehicle had exited the road and struck a tree.

Shreve, the operator of the vehicle and sole occupant, died as a result of the accident.

— GERRY — Devin M. Parker, 28, of Gerry, was charged with speed in zone and driving while intoxicated. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 10:20 p.m. Saturday on Route 60 in the town of Gerry. An investigation found that Parker was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Parker is scheduled to appear in Gerry Town Court later.
