— Zachary A. Miller, 31, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Miller was reportedly observed Friday taking items from Walmart and passing all points of sale. Miller is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Joshua C. Warner, 37, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded at 7:37 p.m. Sunday to the east side of the city for a harassment complaint. An investigation found that Warner had allegedly threatened another person during an argument. While in custody, Warner was reportedly found with a small amount of methamphetamine.

— Maurice Akins, 52, no address listed, was charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal possession of a firearm. Officers learned that Akins allegedly struck another person in the face during an argument Saturday then chased the person. Akins also allegedly strangled the person and threatened to kill them. A 16-year-old female was also present in the room where the incident occurred. Officers discovered that the juvenile female has an order of protection against Akins, which prevents him from acting in a manner that is offensive to the juvenile’s health, safety and welfare. Officers located a loaded semi-automatic pistol, for which Akins does not possess a pistol permit. He was held for arraignment in court.
