Dunkirk man charged in assault on hospital worker
Armando Z. Hernandez-Tirado, 23, has been charged with second-degree assault after striking and biting an employee at a Jamestown hospital.
Jamestown Police report they were called to UPMC Chautauqua around 11:15 p.m. Thursday for the assault. It was reported to officers that the suspect Hernandez-Tirado of Dunkirk was involved in the incident.
He was located at the hospital and taken into custody. He was transported to the city jail and held pending arraignment.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Carlos M. Pagan, 57, of Jamestown, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and reckless driving after a crash on Tuesday.
At 7:48 p.m., officers responded to a southside address for a report of a vehicle that struck a residence. Officers located Pagan in the driver’s seat of the vehicle which was still running. Officers determined Pagan was under the influence of alcohol and he was taken into custody.
It was found that Pagan has been convicted of DWI on three separate dates in the past 10 years. Pagan’s driving privileges were also revoked due to the DWI convictions.
He was held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
— Jessa L. Sardina, 28, of Jamestown,was charged with petit larceny after an incident at a drugstore Saturday.
Before 5 p.m. officers responded to CVS, located at 19 S. Main St., for a larceny. Through an investigation it was determined that an employee, Sardina, stole 120 pills of hydrocodone from the pharmacy. She was placed into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail and later released with a ticket to return at a later date.
— Jacob S. Carr, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny after officers were called to Big Lots for a shoplifting incident around 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
Officers were able to successfully track down the suspect down a trail off of North Main Street where he was located. Officers were also able to retrieve all stolen items and return them to the store. Carr was transported to the City Jail, where he was held for court.
— Brianna L. Mercado, 27, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment after an incident early Saturday downtown.
Officers were called to the Wine Cellar at 309 N. Main St. at 12:56 a.m. for a fight turned assault. The investigation revealed Mercado punched two separate female victims in the face multiple times in the bathroom of the establishment. One of the victims sustained injury while the other did not. Officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle Mercado fled in and she was taken into custody without incident.
— Terry R. Wright, 64, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment after an incident late Friday. Officers responded to an address on the South side for a domestic incident. During the investigation, it was alleged that Wright threatened a female, who has an Order of Protection, which was previously issued in Jamestown City Court. Wright was taken into custody without incident.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— POMFRET — An accident early Saturday led to charges for a Fredonia man. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for an automatic crash notification. Upon arrival at 3:15 a.m., deputies located a vehicle that had crashed causing property damage.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Sergio Bautista Ramirez, 27. After a brief investigation, he was found to be intoxicated and was charged. He is to return to town court later.
— CHAUTAUQUA — At around 2:22 a.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 394. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Robert A. Overton, 22, of Ashville, who was found to be operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. Overton was charged with DWI and released. He will be in court later.
