CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— Clifford L. Hickok II, 62, of Kennedy, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into an incident in which a young child sustained serious injuries Nov. 24. An investigation found that Hickok allegedly engaged in conduct that resulted in the young child sustaining serious physical injuries that required immediate medical attention. Hickok is scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Lucas A. Smyczek, 36, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday to the south side of the city for a warrant check of Smyczek, who had multiple warrants out of Jamestown and from New York state parole. Smyczek was observed inside a residence in violation of two orders of protection. After a standoff that lasted over an hour, Smyczek was taken into custody. He was transported to jail and held for arraignment in court.

DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Adam Thornton, 41, of Dunkirk, was arrested Jan. 7 and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.

— Quawie Ransome, 17, of Dunkirk, was arrested Jan. 8 and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlicensed operation and improper signal.

— Starasia Leon, 27, of Dunkirk, was arrested Jan. 11 and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

— Jodi Messere, 44, of Dunkirk, was arrested Jan. 11 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and improper signal.

— Beverly Spears, 39, of Brocton, was arrested Jan. 12 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

— Sarah Michalak, 45, of Mayville, was arrested Jan. 12 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
