CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT
– Dakota Sugg, 28, of Silver Creek, was sentenced by County Court Judge David Foley to an indeterminate state prison sentence of three to six years for a conviction on a third-degree criminal possession of a weapon charge. The plea was the result of an agreement and covered a number of other charges, the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office announced. Sugg was sentenced as a predicate felon, as it was his second felony conviction within 10 years.
– Travis Colley, 35, of Jamestown was sentenced by Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of two years for a second-degree assault conviction for reportedly striking a Jamestown police officer in the face during an August 2022 arrest.
“As I see it, any violence committed against a police officer is an attack upon our entire community,” DA Jason Schmidt said. “No other segment of our society is more important than our first responders who put their lives on the line each and every day protecting every one of us so that we can live our lives, go about our business, and get home safely each night. When someone injures a police officer as a result of their criminality, we will do everything we can to hold that person accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
Jamestown Police Chief Tim Jackson also added, “I am pleased to hear that Colley will be held responsible for his senseless and cowardice act.”
