POLICE DEPARTMENT
– A pair of individuals are facing numerous charges after a traffic stop turned up drugs before noon Friday.
Tyler R. Elsesser, 38, and Brayley A. Walters, 28, were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and traffic citations.
Officers observed the infractions at Allen and Winsor Streets and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, officers observed paraphernalia associated with the use of illegal drugs in plain view inside the vehicle.
After a search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine and a quantity of fentanyl along with drug packaging materials. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
– Amanda R. Griffin, 45, was charged with third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree criminal tampering after an incident early Sunday.
At around 3:06 a.m., officers responded to an address in the westside of the city for a domestic dispute. Through an investigation, it was found that Griffin attacked the victim, causing physical injury. Griffin additionally destroyed a dresser belonging to the victim and then proceeded to throw a large bucket filled with human urine at the victim.
Griffin was taken into custody and was transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
– Hector V. Ortiz Rodriguez was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest late Saturday. At around 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a northside address for a domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was discovered that Ortiz Rodriguez damaged a coffee table belonging to the victim.
When Ortiz Rodriguez was told that he was under arrest, he attempted to flee into a residence. Ortiz Rodriguez was quickly apprehended and was taken into custody without further incident.
– Janie L. Blakey, 26, was charged with resisting arrest, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree bribery. At around 4:22 p.m. Friday, officers were patrolling in the area of Newland and Barrett avenues. While on patrol, officers observed Blakey walking in the area. Officers had knowledge that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
When officers attempted to take her into custody, she fled on foot in an attempt to evade officers.
After a very short foot pursuit, officers were able to take her into custody without further incident. A search of Blakey resulted in officers finding 10 suboxone strips on her person.
While transporting to the Jamestown City Jail, Blakey attempted to bribe officers for her release from custody with cash multiple times. She was held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
– Michael D. Clark, 37, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree criminal impersonation, fourth-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and outstanding warrants after an incident Friday evening.
At around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a business in the center of Jamestown for the report of a burglary in progress. While investigating, a male subject, later identified as Clark, was in the immediate area of the business.
Officers attempted to identify Clark, who gave officers a false name. He then attempted to flee from officers after he was advised he was being detained.
After a brief foot pursuit, Clark was taken into custody.
– Andrew P. Cooper, 35, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. At about 5:52 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to an unwanted person complaint at an Eastside residence. Upon arrival officers made contact at the residence and the male suspect, Cooper, answered the door. He was in violation of a full stay away order of protection issued in the city of Jamestown and taken into custody and transported to the city jail pending his arraignment.
– Rudy L Ryen, 47, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt on Thursday. At 8:32 p.m., police officers and probation were working a detail in the city of Jamestown.
Officers did an order of protection check for Ryen, who is currently on probation for criminal contempt.
Officers coducted an order of protection check on the northside of the city. Through an investigation officers found that Ryen was violating a valid stay away order by being inside of the victim’s residence. He was transported to the Jamestown city jail.
