JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Askiaa Faison, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded at 7:50 p.m. Monday to the north side of the city for a reported stabbing. A male was located laying on the floor in an apartment with several stab wounds to the chest. The victim was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Following an investigation, Faison was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he was later found in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl. He was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.
